But the stakes are high at the biggest stage, the Stanley Cup Final, and cracks are forming in this team’s game that are proving costly. It’s not their most dire situation yet - they faced elimination in three straight games, as they battled back in Game 1.
So this is a pressure the Panthers haven’t felt in a minute. It hasn’t lost two straight since falling short in Games 3 and 4 to Boston.
Going into this series, Florida had one loss (in Game 4 to Toronto) in 12 games. In Rounds 2 and 3, the Panthers won two on the road to start 2-0. Against Boston, the series was tied 1-1 when shifting back to Florida. This is a new position for the Panthers, who have yet to open a series down 2-0.
